Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
NAIDOC Week
At Nyngan Public School, we proudly participate in NAIDOC Week by engaging with the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Through community events, classroom activities, and cultural celebrations, we honour Indigenous heritage and promote respect and understanding among all students.
NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity for us to learn, connect, and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our community.
Our students also have the opportunity to be part of the Wakakirri Mayi Dance group, performing traditional dances at events throughout the year.
Sport
Sport plays an important role throughout our school year, offering students a wide range of opportunities to stay active and develop their skills.
From Sporting Schools lessons to PSSA competitions, swimming carnivals, athletics events, and more, students are encouraged to participate and enjoy the benefits of teamwork, fitness, and sportsmanship.
Our commitment to sport helps promote a healthy lifestyle and fosters a strong sense of community and school spirit.
Lunchtime Activities
At our school, we offer a variety of lunchtime activities that students can choose to join, including Gardening, Drumming, Dancing, Drama, and Waste2Art.
These groups provide a fun and creative way for students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with others.
Participation in activities like Waste2Art also gives students the chance to create and submit original work, showcasing their talents and commitment to sustainability.
Lunchtime activities enrich student life and foster a vibrant, supportive school community.
"I’m continually impressed by the incredible range of opportunities our school provides for our children. From lunchtime dance and drama clubs to Waste-to-Art competitions, a range of sporting events, cultural celebrations and Moorambilla Voices, our children are encouraged to explore their interests and shine in so many ways. The supportive and dedicated staff make all the difference, creating an environment where every child is given the chance to thrive and succeed".— a parent of Nyngan Public School
